Background information
The school was opened in 1879. It is built “in an Early Gothic Style” comprising a central block with wings and a turret with an open octagonal belfry, surmounted by a spire. The style of the building was inspired by a drawing by Sylvanus Trevail, a well known London Architect of his time. The building is substantially unchanged to this day, except that a new classroom was been added on at the back of the school in 1997 and a new library/classroom extension was added in 2004. Slate cladding was added in 1900 and the turret was lowered in 1928.
The school now comprises of 5 classrooms, a SEN room, library, kitchen, staffroom, headteacher/administrator’s office, resources room and office store.
The school has a hard surface playground, which is marked out with a netball court.
